Hello Spice works community
First time here looks very nice and hope to be here a while. :)
I am not sure what type of issue I am having as I have not come across it before.
I saw a post here http:/
We have about 20 VOIP phones and 20 PC accessing the main building where the servers are and the phone system. We have an MPLS connecting us and they go down quite a bit. So I put a wireless bridge in and tested it and works great as a backup. The Internet is routed out a different way through their own individual connections per building So they do not share the same internet connection.
The problem I am having is that quite frequent.... the phones reboot and one application that they use boots them out.
I have two Netgear GS748TP POE switches in the com/phone room. They are backed up with UPS but I think this is clipping or the switches are clipping but I cannot find out if it is so.
However I have once witnessed that the activity LED lights on the switches have brightened and turned red then normalized again this caused the reboot and the boot out of the application.
I checked that the switch is not being tapped out power wise and I have put the power adapters on the phones but it is not so much losing the power to the phones as it is affecting PC application too. So I think that I have an intermittent power problem with the switches caused by the switched clipping then recovering.
I am wondering can the network ethernet cables be shorted somewhere and cause this?
Any help would be awesome!
Thank you
Joseph
