Hey Guys,
So I want to get really into how to configure a enterprise network efficiently but I'm having trouble finding a good "from beginning to end" resource on how to configure firewalls and routers together. I want something that shows the pros and cons of placement of firewall and routers - the gotchya's and basically what I need to know to jump into a complicated environment and understand their network flow.
I've set up small to mid size offices with routing and firewall however I usually did the intitial setup and the put out any fires that may have been an issue. What I'm looking for now some really deep understanding so that I can plan the entire process in the future, rather then going in and saying okay well firewall in front of router, cross my fingers! What doens't work?
I'm looking for anything from online articles, e books, or really well written text books on the matter. I purchased a couple of firewall books however they stay very focused on the firewall aspect and not their smooth integration into the network.
