I am building my first network from scratch, and running into a big problem. My ISP has given me a static ip address from which I can connect through a trendnet tew 692gr route LAN to my server where I am running dns, ad and dhcp services (soon iis, however just to get it up and running before I split this off into another server).
nearly every other day, my static ip from my ISP switches to a new dhcp ip number. I have been in contact with them repeatedly, and they do not see any problems on their end. So I am trying to figure out where to even begin to diagnose this problem.
I am not seeing any serious issues with my three running services on my server (except a dchp issue with a bad logon that I am fixing). outside of a few random ones such as not enabling scavenging or not using ip6. Would this issue be more associated with my dns service, my dhcp or even in my router?
