Over the last few days I have been dealing with a networking issues on one of my clients setups.
A scope of the network:
5 Port Switch
1) Server (SBS 2011 - DNS,DCHP enabled)
2) Router - Netgear (Wireless + DCHP disabled)
3) Wireless AP (Wireless Enabled - DCHP disabled)
4) Alternative AP (Wireless Enabled -DHCP disabled)
Initial problem reported: Server losing connection to network.
I have replaced the switch and network cables between 1,2,3
This resolved the server connection. Stayed strong for over 24 hours.
New issue reported, all wifi connections can no longer connect to network, "Unidentified network with no internet access". Therefore asked end user to plug wireless laptop directly into switch using Ethernet. Still no connection removed the wireless profiles, tested multiple laptops.
Reconfigured the IPV4 properties to static IP with the corresponding info
IP address
Default Gateway
Subnet Mask
DNS server
When setting the static IP I was able to connect to the network.
Any suggestions so I do not have to go to each device (including mobiles) and set a static IP
