I have Windows server 2008 set up. AD DS, DNS, and DHCP set up. I have configured AD, and DNS (sort of) so that I can join computers, and manage users.
I have my modem, then router (turned DHCP off), and then the server and clients connected via Ethernet or wireless to an AP connected to router.
DHCP on server is set 192.168.1.5/99 and server DNS. Router still uses DNS servers from ISP. I figure this way, all clients will hit the server, and what the server can't resolve, will forward out. I also have a few, including Google's DNS set as forwarders in DNS on server.
Clients are not getting their leases as I would expect. Even if I statically set the IP on the Windows machine to an IP in the scope, I have DNS issues.
