New printer not working with the ip-address of the old printer

Hi!

I just received a new Kyocera DN4200 network printer which is supposed to replace an old Lexmark printer. I don't use DHCP on my printer-vlan, so for testing purposes I set up the device with a new, free IP-address (10.1.21.24). Everything worked fine. Then I took the old printer offline (10.1.21.4) and changed the new printer's IP-address to 10.1.21.4.

I connected the new device with the same 'old' ethernet cable, but I can't ping the device. I tried resetting the network configuration a few times, I deleted the DNS-entry, but I just can't get it online. If I switch to a different IP within the same vlan, it works instantly.

Concerning networks I am not really a pro, so I am wondering if I'm missing something.

Thank you for your help!
