What's the best way to discover hosts on an unmanaged switch that got cut out of the network?
well I found a switch nest that has a few devices plugged into it and our wiring is poorely mapped
I discovered this when an employee complained.
some of the machines there took the 169.254 ip by default so what's the best way to scan this dark area? whatever is connected to that unmanaged netgear switch the mac's etc..
I use advanced IP scanner but it takes too long and only scans the subnet 169.254 from that window machine because that's the default windows ip when they get cut out of the gateway but what about the other devices? and not sure if advanced ip scanner is the best solution
