Sagemcom Router Question

I have a friend of mine who's ISP provided him with a Router just recently after having swapped a Netgear that was defected (which was originally installed when he got the service) It seems like this router was built with the intention to not let anybody tamper with the administration portal. For ex: If you were to just type in 192.168.1.1, its hard corded to route you automatically to the ISP website, where there you have to login to their website to access your ISP account and only have the ability to adjust some basic parameters such as the password. It does not allow you access into the router to change any advanced settings what so ever (port forwarding, DMZ, etc.) Even the information online regarding data sheets/information is scarce. No utilities provided for the router, no CD, no information on the router brand website. Its as if the company woke up yesterday and rolled out a product. Here is the kicker...If he has any issues from here forth on regarding this router, not even the ISP company's field technicians have access to the admin panel, he must call into customer service, where from the back end, they are able to remotely login through the TR client, and adjust the full range of parameters. So if there is a way for the back end to login and edit those settings, there has to be some way in (for example I would presume when the ISP company first beta tested it, their testers weren't contacting customer service to assist them, they most likely had a method to login right then and there) The router seems to have had a custom firmware built into the router, ive tried accessing the net to see if there are some possible way to flashover the custom firmware with the OEM, utilizing the USB ports on the router itself, but once again their website doesn't provide anything. Any suggestions?
