Slow one-way transfer over LAN

Hello everyone,

First time using the Spiceworks community to pose a question. I use and manage numerous installations of Spiceworks on our company network and our department has been extremely pleased with its functionality and flexibility. :)

My question though is a personal issue, though, that I'm hoping other IT professionals can give some input on. On my home network, I'm running Windows 8 Pro x64 along with an android phone and tablet. I'm using a top of the line Asus RT-AC66U router to manage my small home network and I'm very pleased with it.

However, I seem to be having off and on problems with my desktop specifically uploading files to my laptop/android devices to stream videos and other transfers. The transfer will hang at "Calculating" for around ~30 seconds and the transfer speeds will be awful if they proceed (I'm talking the low KB/s here). Oddly, transferring files to my desktop from my laptop over wireless will be a zippy 23 MB/s. It's only when doing uploads from my desktop will the speed hang. Outside internet transfers work both ways without any issues, this is only an intranet issue.

in addition to that, sometimes the problem can clear up for a day or two after messing with settings on the router, but then will start happening again after time. Router reboots generally do not clear the issue at all.

Some things I've tried:

- Enabling / Disabling Jumbo Frames from PCs as well as from the router.

- Updating drivers to latest (using a Killer E2200 Network Adapter)

- Using netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled did not seem to help.

Thanks for your help!
