I have five Riverbed Steelheads. My support contact is up on the 24th of next month. I installed these and they do their thing. I hardly have to touch them or deal with an issue that a restart won't fix. Annual support is $4,000 a year. I am thinking it is best to just let support lapse and purchase a new steelhead if there is a failure to try and save money. Most of the updates to the software seem to be minor and since the steelheads do what I want, I see no reason to continue to pay.
I was wondering if there is anybody out there that is in a similar situation and how it has worked out for them if they allowed the maintenance to lapse? Had any issues that couldn't be taken care of?
Thanks,
Justin
