New Security Cameras setup advice

Hey Spiceworks!

Alright so this should be a fairly straight forward task but my research has turned it into a convoluted mess as always. I can't seem to stop researching the crap out of stuff..

So anyways here is what we have:

Internet (Verizon FIOS)

Crappy Verizon Modem

Cisco Dumb Gigabit 24 port fan-less Switch

approx 18 computers, 2 servers, and 2 Access Points

I need to implement an 8 camera security system using 3 Megapixel ACTi E42A to replace their old coax style black and white camera system.. :-) Talk about an upgrade!

So my plan is to use a switch with POE and if I am going to buy them a new switch I figure let's do a 10 port POE D-Link switch

http://www.dlink.com/us/en/business-solutions/switching/smart-switches/smart/dgs-1210-10p-10-port-gigabit-poe-smart-switch-including-2-combo-sfp-slots

Here is my question, I would like to be able to use this switch from some access points too but I have heard that you need to VLAN the camera traffic. Obviously I am going to have a Video Server on the VLAN for camera traffic.

So here comes all the questions-

How do I integrate this switch with the current one or do I run a new line to the Verizon router and keep it separate.

If I VLAN the cameras, How can i make sure the cameras can still access the DHCP server which is located on the "dumb" switch.

If I VLAN the camera server (NVR), how do I ensure it's accessible from the internet by mobile users/managers on the other switch..
