Building expansion

I have a couple of questions as my company is making plans to add a second building.

Firstly, we have 2x 3Com 4200g Switches in the current office. I would like to move to Cisco, and wanted to know if there were any issues with connecting a Cisco switch to my current network that has the 3Com switches.

The second question is, what is the best way to connect the existing switches to the new switches. I have no idea if we are going to exceed the 100m mark or not, and if I don't then I am good. So assumung we do, the 1000BASE-LX is what I am looking for, right? The 3Com part is the 3CSFP92. On the Cisco end, is the WS-G5486 what I will need?
