Have any of you used Etherwan Switches (EX17242 series). My camera security vendor uses those switches to power POE cameras. The price quoted seemed pretty high when I compare it to Cisco SG series or Netgear... I wondered if there is anything special that makes these switches different from let's say an SG300 (SRW2024P). The switches are used in a flat network just to power and enable data flow for the cameras. The prices quoted are double of those in the Cisco SMB line. I asked why they use those use and they said that their hardware vendor recommends those. I personally have never heard of Etherwan. A quick search seems they are closely related to the CCTV business line of products.
