wifi and cellular routing/connectivity question

I have a number of users with iPads that want to use our wifi network when in the office. The problem I have is the ipads are configured to receive email from out external Ip address - 207.x.x.x.

I am told that our firewall does not allow access to our external 207.x.x.x mail server address from our internal 192.168.x.x network for security reasons. Is there a safe and secure way to make this happen? The problem is that a lot of users come to work with their wifi enabled and then complain that they are not receiving email - once wifi is disabled and the device is on the cellular network the mail is then received.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance!
