Force laptop to use company DNS through VPN (bypass ISP's DNS)

Hi All,

I have a user who works from home a few days a week, and connects to our network via a L2TP VPN connection. A problem has recently occurred where the laptop is no longer using our DNS servers, when connected to us via the VPN, therefore network drives/file shares are not working correctly. It seems to be using his ISP's DNS servers instead of our DNS Servers.

The VPN client seems to be fine, as I can ping and access our servers using their IP addresses, but not their host names. We also have many remote workers that use the same VPN client without any problems at all. So I think it must be a config change that his ISP has made, maybe?!? I have a feeling this is something to do with binding priorities, but unsure where or how to force the connection to use our DNS, and not the ISP's.

Has anyone experienced this before? Or has any suggestions on how to diagnose further, or resolve?

***Edit*** Laptop is running Windows XP Pro SP3

Thanks.
