If I stay connect via VPN to another network - using Sonicwalls - when I disconect, I loose all local network connection. I've tried resetting winsock and the tcp ip stack, release/renew ipconfig, disable and enable the connection, dns flush, without success. The only way to reestablish network connection is to restart the computer.
While disconnected I get the following errors:
While doing an ipconfig /release: An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network adapter.
Ipconfig shows a PPP adapter with the media state as nonoperational. PPP adapter does not normally show.
While trying to ping a server on the network: No resources.
When performing a Windows Network Diagnostics: the DNS server isn't responding
A short VPN session causes no issues - just wondering if there is some time to live VPN setting causing an issue?
I checked the VPN logs - and no issues seen.
I'd like to find the root cause of this - restarting the computer is a pain.
