First off, I apologize if this is a dumb question.
I have six old HP (actually re-branded 3Com) v1910 switches currently in use on my network to carry data and VOIP traffic. I am in the process of replacing these switches with some Dell PowerConnect 55xx and 62xx's. I am wondering if during the transition, the HP's will play nicely with the Dell's if I used the same VLAN IDs for voice and data? I would like to configure and test the Dell switches before I shutdown the HP's completely and make the swap. I only want to plug one or two phones and computers into the Dell's to make sure that data and voice traffic is functioning. Is this do-able?
Thanks.
