Hi all
We're experiencing an issue in out network where; any workstations accessing a file on the server comes to a halt every 30 mins (7 mins past the hour and 37 mins past the hour).
I've made sure all virus signature updates and backup processes run during the night but we are still getting freezes all day long.
The server is supplied and supported by another company, fairly highly spec'd, but they insist that there is no evidence of the freezes anywhere in the server logs.
We've been advised that the only way forward is to upgrade our network switch to a managed switch (we're still on an old 100mb switch) but this will obviously cost best part of £1000 to get installed and I would like to exhaust all possible avenues before committing to the installation.
Has anyone else ever experienced / resolved something like this before? Maybe you can shed some light on the matter? We are totally baffled and it's been happening for weeks!
We're running about 30 worksttions on Windows XP / 7 mixed environment.
The Server is spec is:
Dell PET420
Intel Xeon E5-2430 0 @ 2.20 GHz (2 processors)
32 GB
Windows SBS 2011 Standard 64-bit
