Trouble with dhcp reservations for Chromecast and LG TV.

Hi all,

I have been racking my brain with this one and am at a loss. For my home network, I have a Cisco 870 router connected to Cox Cable internet. The router is configured to get its public address via dhcp (which works fine). It is then the dhcp server for the devices on my network. I have kids with ipods at home, so I restrict internet access (based on time of day). To accomplish this, I have created an time-of-day access-list, which permits only hosts from my static-reservations file (static-bindings.txt). This file contains the network details (ip address, type, hardware address and lease expiration) for the devices that should have unrestricted access to the internet.

I have been able to successfully apply this configuration to my laptop, my wife's laptop, all 3 of our iPads her desktop computer and the family desktop. Unfortunately, that is where my success ends. Though the file contains entries for the ChromeCast device and my new LG tv, neither device (when it requests a dhcp address) is presented with the reserved address.

I have tried using both the client-identifier (01+Mac address) and just the hardware address (MAC), but neither have proved fruitful. Worthy of note, I am using the hardware address as displayed in show ip dhcp bindings. for the rest of the devices, this address is the client-identifier. For the Chromecast and LG, it is the MAC address.

Any ideas?

-Ronnie
