Hi Guys
I'm pretty certain this tool doesn't exist in the SME market, but I thought I'd ask just to see what people come up with. We are a IT/Technical Team with 2 staff serving a company of 100 (and growing fast).
we use a mish-mash of tools, which we simple don't have the time to manage effectively. Presently we use
- Kaspersky Security Center for Anti-virus
- ManageEngine DesktopCentral for Patching
- ManageEngine OpManager for monitoring our Servers and Network
- EventLog Analyzer for checking Syslogs
- Team Viewer for Remote Support
- Quest Foglight for monitoring our VMWare infrastructure
There are probably a few I've missed.. most of the tools are not fully configured and only used post-event and fire fighting, rather than pro-actively, simply because we don't have the time to keep them all configured and monitored (There are only 2 of us, and with the recent growth we have rolled from project to project, without opportunity to consolidate).
I'm in quite a good position at the moment as I have a few weeks downtime and I have a modest budget to fix this (£8000-£9000) - additionally most these systems are due for renewal now. I have a requirement for a system that has integrated or can help manage
- End Point Security (100 Desktop, 50 VDI Desktops and 20 Virtual Servers)
- Patching (Same as End Pont Security, support for 3rd party apps)
- Remote Support (For about 100 staff)
- Server and Application Monitoring (30 Linux and 20 Windows Server)
- Network device monitoring (20 switches and 4 Firewalls)
- Netflow Monitoring (about 10 interfaces)
- Syslog and Evenlog Monitoring (About 100 devices and Servers)
- Ticket System (for 2 technicials and 100 staff)
- Security and Vulnerability Scanner
There might be some top-end enterprise solutions, but the best solution I've come up with for my budget is a combo of ManageEngine IT360 and SOPHOS, another potential option was GFI suite of tools (LAN Guard and VIPR), but I don't know how integrated they are.
Some people will suggest Keseya, but this is more targeted at MSP's and when I last tested it(circa 2011-12) the interface was horrendous. Unfortunately Spiceworks is out (I can't work with 30% of my screen showing adverts, even if its free). System Center 2012R2 is a potential option, but it seems bloated and the installation guide made my eyes glaze over..
Would welcome any suggestions and discussion on this.
