Good day all.
This is my first post ever relating to IT related issue. So I'm very desperate.
I have a very complex and unique situation going here so if anyone has any other options please let me post here.
Ok so here goes.
I have 30x Dell E5430 laptops running windows 7 pro X64 which I had format reload and to preload all needed software (Which is a lot). So like most IT guys I looked for the easiest way possible to do it. So I setup 1 laptop and then used a 3rd party backup software called Shadow Protect to image that Laptop and then I loaded that image on the rest of the laptops, Took me less than a day to do all the laptops where it would have taken me maybe a week if I did all individually.
Ok let me get to the point here:
After reloading the image on all laptops, everything seemed like it worked perfect. Until I tried to connect to the network to add the machines to the domain, then I started getting weird problems like
- Not getting IP on dhcp with LAN & WIFI
- No connection when using static on LAN & WIFI
Then one for one magically the ones connected on LAN started getting IP's, I didn't really do anything specific. A couple of restarts and changing between static and dynamic eventually got it to get an IP. I still can't tell what resolved the issue with LAN.
But now the headache I currently have is that I'm not getting dynamic IP's at all on Wifi, on any network. Not the office, not my home nowhere! If I configure a static IP it connects fine though.
I have tried the following with no success.
- ipconfig /release /renew (I get message "an error occurred while releasing interface wifi")
- tried uninstalling network device drivers in DM (
- Installed newer drivers downloaded from Dell site
- Ran netsh int ip reset and netsh winsock reset catalog
- Disabled windows wirewall
- Paused Kaspersky protection
- Deleted HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock & Winsock 2
- Checked Node Type . . : Hybrid (Which is fine)
-netsh advfirewall reset
-netsh branchcache reset
-netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
-netsh winsock reset
-checked services
And many more small things. None of this seemed to have fixed my issue.
I have to hand over 5 laptops to net employees tomorrow, and 15 more come monday. No time to reload them all manually.
Your urgent responses will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks.
Nico
