I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to fiber. I have switches connected with fiber, but that's about it. One of my clients is building a new building, everything is cat6a with fiber connecting the three mdf/idf's. The low voltage contractor connected the rooms with 12 strands of fiber. Why so many strands? Don't I just need one pair (2 strands) for each room? 2 strands connected to switches on both ends will give me the full 10 Gb? The sfp's are AXM763-10000s, in GS752TXSB-100NAS. The fiber is 50/125 multimode.
