Hi,
I'm looking after a small company and now it grows to a point that we're considering VPN.
The current system is just a small MS Workgroup of under 20 computers in one building, with simple username/password protection for a shared network folder, the sub folders are NTFS Permision enabled, and people can access data depends on their roles/pay grade. Of couse we can adopt the NT Domain model instead of NT Workgroup.
Now that we want to enable our telecommuters to be able to access the data while they're away from the office. and we are thinking VPN.
I'm wondering how small businesses protect their sensitive data over VPN breaches, using VPN means openning new door to threats/hacker. To be specific, how to protect Financial folder from being hacked over VPN, eg. in case a laptop is lost/stolen?
Thanks,
Quy
