Hi all, user came to me saying her computer (Lenovo x230i, Windows 7 Pro x64) crashed and now will not connect to the internet. When I first came to it, the Meraki System Agent software was constantly crashing and rebooting (event ID 1000) - a restart stopped this.
However the network adapters are acting incredibly oddly: there are 3 adapters - LAN, wifi and Bluetooth PAN. All 3 are enabled in Network Connections, however only the Bluetooth PAN shows in ipconfig /all. I can ping 127.0.0.1 but nothing else (I get a PING: Transmit failed. General failure).
I have uninstalled the adapters as well as their drivers and rebooted as well as attempted to update them. The wifi adapter can see wifi networks but cannot bind to them. I have tried giving the LAN a static IP. Also reset the DNS & ARP cache as well as clear the Winsock and TCP/IP stack (just in case). Route print also shows nothing useful as it's only showing the PAN (which is disconnected).
Short of installing wireshark and/or wiping the machine, does anyone have any thoughts what the issue might be? I did think a damaged NIC, but having both the LAN and wifi go down seems weird.
