Connection issues with Single NIC Dual Static IP between XP and Windows 7

Having problem with dual IP single NIC issue between Win XP ( actually Windows Embedded ) and Windows 7. We need to change servers to Windows 7 because XP is going out support.

Same configuration works with XP Server and if we used dual NIC's the problem goes away, but the problem is that there are a lot of stores that have installation and will be a cost and support factor.

The configuration is basically the following networks on single nic

Local network with server being 192.168.100.100 and registers having say 192.168.100.102

Also second ip for enterprise network which is something like 10.193.x.x

The problem initiated original with fact that registers could not connect with our kitchen. The logic was basically ping logic code - with dual nics - same code works as in current code with stores. The ping logic uses standard winsock calls like GetHostByName

Early this week - I got new Windows 7 image and boot it up and it did not have 2nd network installed on it - I configured it in Windows and it work surprising, even if I log off which happens nightly in stores. But when I restarted the machine it failed.

Thanks for any help that you can point me in.

Stewart
