So I've got an network issue on a Windows 7 laptop that I can't seem to resolve and I am one step away from re imaging, however, I am hoping spiceworks can help me out here.
The problem is that the computer cannot reach the Internet using the wired Ethernet adapter. This problem is restricted to The "Internet" as I can reach all the local sub-nets and our WAN sub-nets. Using the wireless connection, there are NO issues whatsoever.
Has anyone run into a similar issue or have any ideas what could be causing this?
Here's what I've troubleshooted so far:
Checked TCP/IP settings on network card.
DNS is settings on the LAN card are ok and name translation works.
Pinging Internet IPs fails (obviously)
Disabled Windows Firewall
Uninstalled Symantec Endpoint, service failed to start. (so far this is my best clue for the culprit)
Updated LAN card drivers
Disabled "LAN Switching" in BIOS Setup (HP setting)
Flashed BIOS
Ran system restore
Thanks!
