Would having two servers on the same network with the same domain name cause any particular problems if it was just done temporarily?
This is as part of a replacement of a 2003 Server with a new 2012 R2 server. The customer would like to use the same internal domain name so during the switch over we would have both servers on the network at the same time with the same domain name.
We are not doing any clever upgrading of the domain or it's components, rather a completely fresh install with data copied across manually. Which raises the question of whether these two domain controllers (with the same domain name) would be able to see each other to allow the data to be copied across.
