Some LAN devices can't resolve /helpdesk URL, others can?

We are new to domain networking as of December 2013, when we upgraded to switches, added a Zone Director and 6 Ruckus APs, reconfigured SonicWALL NAS250M accordingly, and had our only Windows Server 2008 configured for AD, printing and file services, from its former shadow self as DHCP/doorstop. Obviously, a consultant did the heavy lifting, however he's largely moved on and I'm stuck with a few hanging threads, the longest being Spiceworks. I'm not a complete idiot, just new to VLANs,  zones, AD and DNS and don't quite know where to begin troubleshooting  this issue.

The problem we're having is that some of our LAN computers (Win7) can reach the SW helpdesk, others cannot. The ones that can, browse to /helpdesk or helpdesk.ourdomain.com and log in with their domain accounts with no trouble.

Other Win7 devices get 404s on the SW URLs, however all other LAN/WAN functions on those same computers work fine.

So my SWAG is that there's a configuration setting that's half-done. In the DNS settings? SonicWALL? That's where I get lost.

It seems to be consistent in that our wireless devices (10.11.110-112.xxx) can access SW. It's the wired machines (10.11.102.xx) that cannot, The SW helpdesk is set to 10.11.100.9.

An inventory also looks to be missing these same devices that cannot reach the helpdesk, so fixing the broken link should populate my inventory, too, no? At this point I just want my users to be able to access the helpdesk.

Hope I've provided appropriate background data. Any pointers on where/what I should look for to fix this issue?

Thanks!
