I got a new Belkin router a few months back and it is supposed to let everyone be able to stream and surf all at the same time. I am having major issues with this router. I have to reset it all of the time. We lose connection to the router a lot. I unplug it and plug it back in and then you can connect. If I have multiple people trying to stream at the same time the video will pause and skip. It is not the internet provider, we have a 20M connection and it tests fine. I have worked with belkin support for over an hour and was told that they needed to relpace the router, but that I would have to call back after about an hour so the tech could finish inputting her notes and to give the request time to get to the other department. I was suspicous because i have never heard of this and the tech had a lot of issues while troubleshooting with me, i was helping her more than she was helping me. I called back the next day and went to the instructed department and gave them the case #. They proceded to tell me that the case did not indicate that the router was defective and they could not replace it without a tech determining that it was a defective unit. When I explained that I had done that the night before and was told that it was defective, the response was simply "it doesnt say that here". I asked for a manager and when she got on the line she told me the same thing and that i would have to call support to get a tech to troubleshoot the device again.I expalined again that I had done that the night before and that began the cycle of it doesnts say that here argument again. I told them to contact the tech and ask her and was told that they have many techs and she didnt know who the tech was. when i questioned that statement she back teacked and said that she did know who it was but couldnt contact her. at this point i was getting frustrated and after arguing the point a bit more decided that it was just better to get off of the phone since they clearly were not going to back their warranty.
I am swearing off Belkin at this point and looking for a new router that will do what i need and not break the bank.
Any suggestions?
