We are on a verge of building additional buildings on our compound and I am looking to expand our LAN on these 2 buildings.
Currently, I have all the equipments (router, firewall, managed switch, servers, etc.) sitting at our headend which is a separate small building. The 2 new buildings will be around 300m away from our headend and I want every lines on those rooms connected to the managed switch. The thing is that I cannot just run Cat6 cables because of the distance, so I am thinking to use fiber. What is the best set-up to do this? If I need to use fiber then I will be using a fiber media converter on each building which will eliminate the purpose on having all rooms connected on the managed switch.
