I knew it for a while, but did you know that all traffic on our network is impacted and buffered by your RAM ?
here just copying some tb on our new NAS from a local drive. Do you notice the wave in the ram usage history? Its caused by transfering 4GB files, first buffered by ram with about 300MB/s (read performance) and then transfered from RAM to the NAS with currently 1Gbit/s per stream. Although the copy-process waits for completion of transmission from RAM to NAS.
