I have a network of about 20 users and when one user starts a large download, that one download consumes all the bandwidth and the rest of the 19 users are left with crippling speeds.
I'm using AT&T with 18 Mb/s down and 1.0 Mb/s up.
Question 1: Do ISP's build any kind of QoS into their modems to address this issue? I just switched from Time Warner Cable to AT&T and didn't have this issue with TWC.
Question 2: I have a switch that supports QoS, but since the switch sits behind the firewall, if I limit bandwidth then it limits the bandwidth for both LAN traffic AND internet traffic. I only want to limit bandwidth on my internet traffic to prevent bottlenecks.
Thanks,
