Dell 6248p vlan config question

Morning all,

I have a question about the config of a dell power connect 6248p switch. the lines in question and output are as follows:

Text
1
2
3
4
MG-SWI01(config-if-ch1)#switchport mode trunk
Warning:'switchport mode trunk' removes the interface(s) from VLAN 1 by default.
MG-SWI01(config-if-ch1)#switchport general allowed vlan add 1-3 tagged
Interface not in General Mode.

I am vaguely aware of how vlans work and I am translating this config from a

5524 to a 6248p, hence the question here for a sanity check.

There are two switches with three vlans and a couple of LAGS in this configuration that do various things for our virtual environment. The idea is that switch one is the primary and switch two is the secondary and they should fail over from switch one to switch two in the event the first one fails. This didn't happen on Friday and took down our virtual environment for a little while (4ish hours) and I am wondering if the above lines are the reason.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

James
