So, I have a little bit of a problem I need some advice on. We have a client who has 13 Ubiquiti UAP's in their facility. They use these in conjunction with both laptops, and iPods/iPhones (3rd Gen). We are having some coverage issues because of the fact, that due to the idevices being what they are, they obviously won't change AP's when signal strength gets low. In order to fix this, they vendor of the system that supplies these devices, has turned the wifi signal down to 15 dBm for all AP's, which causes connection issues and drop outs for the laptops. This fixes the idevice issue because it forces them to switch AP's alot sooner, but of course causes more issues wth weak signal for the laptops.I currently am testing the Beta 3.1.10-RC on this network with no issues, but of course the idevices being older than 4 gen don't support 802.11r for the ZH function. I just don't know what to try to make all parties happy. Turn up the signal, laptops work fine with 0 issues, but the idevices therefore have issues, turn it down to make the idevices happy, the laptops have issues? Where is the happy medium.
Thanks!
