For kicks I started packet capturing on my home firewall's WAN interface which connects via ethernet cable to my cable modem as provided my ISP. My public IP from my ISP and is a /22 starting with say 184.x.x.x. On my packet capture I am seeing arp requests for both public and private ip addresses not in my subnet as assigned by my isp. For example:
ARP, Request who-has 50.81.3.144 tell 50.81.3.1, length 46
ARP, Request who-has 10.66.205.54 tell 10.66.192.1, length 46
Just curious if anyone knows why these arp requests would be hitting the WAN side of my home firewall? Does anyone else see this type of traffic on their WAN or anything else kinda interesting? Just curious. I have no special business class internet or anything, just normal residential cable modem internet...Thanks.
