Installing Programs from Network is Slow

My company's shared drive has started to become really slow when installing executables, but accessing files like word documents, pdfs or spreadsheets is still as quick as before. If I run an .exe from the share it can take up to 5 minutes for it to finally work...

Any ideas on what could be causing the programs to take a while to install? It doesn't matter which computer we run the .exes from.
