Hi there. A customer raised an interesting point in a meeting today about the issues surrounding the pros and cons of running a NZ branch from their Australian based servers. Customer was thinking about using thin clients in NZ and communicating with Oz servers. Gave them a couple of examples of patchy performance that a couple of our multinational companies found in the past, in that same situation, before they change their infrastructure. Customer had also heard of similar stories from other IT providers as well.
Just wondering if anyone had actual data or examples that they are willing to share? Your customer names could remind hidden if you need to, but actual data/stats would be appreciated, or just overview of what issues you've seen/are seeing with any of your customers in similar situation.
