Cannot make remote connection

We have a computer lab set up and all the student computers have AB Tutor Client installed on them. Myself and the teacher station have AB Tutor Teacher installed so we can monitor the students and, if need be, take over their system. I have one computer that I cannot connect to, so I did a few simple tests to start troubleshooting. I tried pinging it by name and all 4 packets were lost. I tried by IP address and got the same result. I've tried repairing the software and received an error message stating "invalid firewall process image path, or file not found". I tried opening the ports on our firewall, that didn't work. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the AB Tutor software on the computer and I still cannot ping it by name or IP, and I cannot connect to it via the AB Tutor software.

This specific computer is connected to our domain, has internet access and can browse without issue (within the limitations of our filter of course).

I'm just confused as to how I cannot ping/access this device remotely, yet it can connect to the web and browse. Anyone have a suggestion?
