Can Zenoss run from a Xenserver VM or does it need a physical server?

Hello,

Quick question, we currently have 3 xenservers running about 10 pretty light-weight VM's on each server. We also have 5 other physical linux servers.

We want to use zenoss to monitor the VM's, the physical server, and our 3 switches. Would Zenoss require it's own physical server or would it running on a CentOS VM work out due to the small infrastructure?

Currently do not have the power for a new physical server so trying to monitor things like bandwidth, disk space, RAM, CPU via some type of system in a VM.

Our Xenservers are allocated with about +100GB of memory on average, with Intel E5645 or L5639 processors.

Any advice, comments, etc.. is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I couldn't find the correct group to post this one from the list of suggested/more groups it was showing me.
