Had checked out a few cable management solutions and went with the advice from many here in Spiceworks and decided to go with NEATPATCH. Would have been an easy job if all I had to do was tidy the cabling up, but as you will see from the photos below, the job was quite a big one. Saturday and Sunday to complete before staff arrive back on Monday.
Note: I cannot blame my predecessors as I have no idea what time constraints, or what equipment was available to them at that time.
BEFORE
Patch Panel 1 - "Spaghetti Junction"
Panel 2 - Other switches and network appliances
Panel 3 - More patch panels and network appliances
Panel 4 - Network Appliances and backup devices
Back of Racks - This was a real nightmare. Standing over cables, accidently pulling cables out. No idea why cable looms were run to the floor and routed back up again - perhaps it was fine were first installed and just got worse over time.
The server and storage racks are at the opposite side of the room and they were both fine so no work to do there.
