I have started using the Total Network Monitor but there seems to be some settings I do not understand. I have it set to ping all of our devices at interval 1 minute with time out 30 seconds. I have retry count at 10 and TTL at 255 to try and solve the false reports I get. Most notable is using to ping across our VPN to our other network. We both have upload and download speed in excess of 3 MBs. I have run a continuous ping from WIndows 7 to a device on the other end of the VPN tunnel and this is the same computer I have TNM on. I see times in excess of 250ms from Windows ping but TNM responds that the device is down and then up and back and forth. This mainly happens when we are downloading large files through the internet. Now if Windows does not see any pings drop, why does TNM?
