So I've recently discovered this new brand of Cisco compatible transceivers from AddOn Computer Products that are sold at insanely low prices and include a lifetime warranty. Most of them are under $100 each where as I'm used to paying several hundred for a single unit! I have never seen transceivers so cheap, even from other non OEM brands.
Last week, I purchased two of of their Cisco compatible Multi-Mode SFPs from CDW to bring up a new link between a Cisco 3560G and a Cisco IE-3000. The SFPs didn't look any different out of the box than Cisco's except for the sticker label on them. They felt the same plugging in to the switch (not cheapy) and as soon as the switch was installed and turned on, the link came up and has been up and solid ever since!
I'm stunned at how cheap these were and how well they've worked for me so far. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep buying them but I'm curious what Spiceworks thinks. Has anyone else given these transceivers a try on their network? Are these prices too good to be true? Should I be worried about reliability down the line?
