Here's the deal:
I'm needing to connect to a shared and presumably insecure wireless network.
I've got a Belkin 150N wireless router and a spare PC. I'm considering putting a wireless card in the PC and connecting it to the shared network. I'll install ClearOS and use the PC as a router/Firewall/DNS/DHCP. The ethernet connection will run from the PC to the Belkin (which will just be in AP mode).
This should both protect my machines and extend the range of the network.
Is there anything wrong with this idea? Is there a simpler way that doesn't involve buying hardware. I already checked, and my Belkin is not DD-WRT compatible.
