I don't have a floorplan layout of my workplace to mark up network drops. Looks like I might have filled that hole.
Saw an article about MagicPlan on one of my news feeds. Almost skipped it, but decided to check it out and ... wow.

The basics: You stand in a spot with as close to a view of all four corners of a room as possible. You rotate around, marking the corners and any doors. The app returns a plan of the room for you to mark up (additional doors, non-square space, cutouts, windows, etc). You can move to additional rooms, repeat the process and move it to where it attaches to the first room (doorway). Magic.
It's free to download and build out the plan. It costs money to export without a watermark. I don't know that I've ever walked into a situation where the IT department had a reasonable architectural drawing of the floor layout. Even with only approximate dimensions, it'll be a huge benefit to be able to mark power outlets, network drops, and VoIP drops.
I haven't had a chance to look at the business furniture (cubicle builds) yet, but even if it's non-existent, this is a really impressive app that would add a lot of value.
Anyone else used anything similar? Or used MagicPlan all along?
