I have some new HP ProCurve 2520 and 2530 switches that I need some advice with.
We currently don't use VLANS but are looking at moving over to them very soon so I am configuring the new switches I have bought with all the VLAN ID's we are going to be using. I'll leave all the ports in the default for now and then when we roll over to VLANS I'll move the ports into the relevant areas.
My question comes down to the management of the switches. We current have two networks separated by a TMG firewall called Academic and Student. Some switches will only have one or the other networks on and I'm assuming I then assign an IP address relevant to the network it is on for management.
What do I need to do when both networks are running on the switch bearing in mind the networks don't need to talk to each other as this is done via the TMG box?
