Most of our users require the ability to assign static ip addresses to their machines. They use various industrial software that requires a static ip in order to directly connect to industrial machines and equipment. When they are done, they switch back to DHCP in order to gain network access.
Normally it's not an issue as they assign an ip address outside of our DHCP range and on a different network range.
However, how could I prevent them from accidentally assigning an ip address of one of our servers, firewalls, or switches? It seems they could accidentally cause major problems for me and other users. Plus if that happens I'm not even sure how I would detect and diagnose the issue.
