Hello All,
I have seen many different topics on this discussion on spiceworks as well the DDWRT forums but I have yet been able to figure this out. I'd appreciate any help and advice from others about this problem.
I've got a SonicWall TZ 215 that I'd like to be DHCP server for my two Linksys EA4200 access points using DDWRT v24-sp2. I'd also like each of those access points to have two SSID's, one for public and one for private. I'd like the Public and Private WiFi to be on separate 802.11Q VLANs in order to be assigned to different DHCP ranges. I'd also like the Public WiFi user to be taken to a captive portal via the SonicWall Guest Services feature.
Between the AP's and my SonicWall is a Netgear GS748T switch using one cable going from the AP to the Netgear and then the standard uplink cable going from the Switch to the SonicWall. I know you can do VLAN tagging on the AP's themselves and on the Netgear. I've done VLAN's before on older Netgear's and PC's but never with a smart device on the other end. I'm just trying to figure out what important step I'm missing.
Attached is a graphic of what I'd like to accomplish. In the graphic there's only one AP listed but I figure if I can figure out how to get one working, I can replicate it on the other.
I apologize if I'm not being clear, let me know and I'll try to clarify. I'd appreciate any help that comes my way.
Thanks,
