HP V1910-G switches causing unaccountable issues.

This is the scenario, we have extended one of our sites and have added extra switches in order to accommodate this, since the switches have become operational we have had the following:

1) one computer going into hibernation

2) HP Laser printers producing error 48 after each print job

3) one computer constantly loosing its connection to exchange

When the new HP switches are restarted the issues goes away for a while then reoccur. Our existing network consisted of two Nortel 5510 Layer three switches and we added two HP v1910G-24 POE and one HP v1910G 24, they are linked in the following manner:

Site A 5510 - 5510 via backplain - HP V1910-24 POE via Cat 5 uplink

Site B HP V1910-24 POE - HP V1910-24 via Cat 5 uplink

Site A - B by fibre gbic

See attached.

I have tried setting the uplink ports on the HP's to trunk ports but had to abandon this because all connectivity to three Linux virtual servers totally failed. Can anybody give possible clues as to what is going on?
