Verizon is by far the worst vendor I have to deal with. Some of you may remember last week or two ago I had an issue where the Verizon tech had me factory reset their router which turned it back into a wireless/DHCP device. Once I disconnected it from my network, everything returned to normal. We couldn't log onto the router after that so they sent me a replacement router. On Friday I logged into the replacement router and disabled the wireless and disabled the DHCP functionality. Yesterday morning when I turned on my pc, it floundered and picked up the router's settings and wouldn't connect to the network. I just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Verizon where they repeatedly told me, "I'm sorry, we don't assist with basic configurations." There's a section on the router for the DNS server settings. The laptop I physically connected to the router is showing as the DNS server. However, it has a spot to set a DNS server's IP address. Should I put my DNS server's IP address there? Or if I just leave that blank, will it not give out DNS info to the rest of the network? Did I mention I hate Verizon with a passion?
