Can't get into Home NAS

I have a Seagate GoFlex Home Personal that I am unable to access via Filezilla. I have tried active and passive mode and neither will work. The way it is is basically this.

WAN>FiOS router/modem>RVS4000>NAS

I have forwarding rules setup and I can telnet to it.

telnet

o myconnection.domain.com 21

I can get in and it looks like the device uses vsftpd and it won't accept any commands I enter after I login via:

user admin

pass mypassword

I can't figure out why I can't access it across the WAN.

Any ideas? It works fine locally but I need remote access.
